Back to School

Ah, the first day of school. One of my favorite photo op's. The kids are all getting so big! If you count preschool, this year I get to send four of my five out the door. Its so fantastic. Kenni is in 3rd grade this year, Sparky in 2nd, Noodle & Smurf are both in Preschool. (Noodle is a "missed the deadline" baby, so he & Smurf will only be 1 year apart in school, same as Kenni & Sparky).
So, for at least 2 hours twice a week, I get some alone time with my baby. Joy of joys. And really, there's something about that first hint of fall in the air, new school supplies, and football season that makes you take a deep breath & say "Ahhhh!"
I love it!

I always take a picture of them getting on the bus. Do you think when they're in high school they'll hate me for it????

Kevin & Michelle's Wedding

My baby brother has flown the coop! Yes, the last Harward child is officially married off- thanks to yours truly :)
That's right- I take credit for this blessed event, at least partially. I was the one who played matchmaker for the little lovebirds. For those who haven't heard the story, I'll recap.
Michelle's family lives up here in my part of town. They are in our ward & fantastic people to boot. I met Michelle several years ago & thought to myself that she & Kev-o would make a great pair, so I asked Jennie (her mom) if she was "set-up-able". She replied with an enthusiastic YES, but lazy me did nothing about it. Awhile later, Kevin came up to my house to help me with some yard work. (The old man was just not pulling his weight, and I needed some Honey-Do's crossed off my list. Sorry Seth). So Kevie is out in the front yard pulling weeds or something when he comes to the door to ask me if I'll put some sunscreen on his back. You see, the boy is insanely ripped & strangely tan for a red-head, so he can't possibly wear a shirt whilst working outside. Anyway- I came out to slather him up and suddenly realized how inappropriate this picture might look to the random passerby- me putting lotion on the bare chest of my "lawn-boy". While I was contemplating this dilemma, a tall gorgeous blond jogged past the house with her dog in tow & Kevin did a double-take, following her down the block with his eyes. He asked me who the hot blonde was- I looked- it was Michelle. I laughed & said I was supposed to set the two of them up long ago, to which he replied "well, get on it!"
There's more to the story- but that's really my favorite part. They were smitten with each other from the first date & my family loved Michelle instantly as well.
The wedding was so much fun. We were all so happy for them & sad to see Kevin go at the same time. He's always been the baby. He takes such good care of my parents, too. I swear, they are going to die without him. So, here are a few of my favorite photos from the blessed event. We love you Kevin & Michelle. Welcome to our completely disfunctional and loads of fun family!!!

All my siblings & their spouses

Janna & her new baby Lena. She was 8 weeks premature & is still hooked up to a few machines. She is doing great, though, and is SO CUTE!

I made Michelle hold baby J so I could snap a picture. Its sort of a funny joke that every time she holds her, Michelle gets puked on, pooped on, or the baby screams hysterically. The poor girl. I've scared her away from kids for at least awhile. Her dress was SO gorgeous, I promised her that J would behave, and she did.

Lauren & Kenni thought they were so special because they were invited to the "adults-only" dinner. Of course we had to bring the baby, too.

My best friend Jami was in town for the reception. It was so fun to see her. Our babies are also only 2 weeks apart.
